On the 29th of October, Roots and Shoots People, along with Migrant Link, made their trip to Kaiping to engage in activities children of migrant workers. Departing around 7:30 am, both community services arrived in Kaiping at 10:30am. While the trip was long, AISG volunteers’ had a lot of spirit. Minseok said, “I am really tired, but I am looking forward to a fun day at Kaiping.”

With the official greetings starting at 11:00am, it quickly moved to lunch, which was mostly composed of Korean and Chinese cuisine including Kimbab and dumplings.

After the fulfilling lunch, all the students were ushered to the field to play Octopus and other recreational games. (To watch the video, click this link: Octopus game) Both students and volunteers had an eventful day with jam-packed activities of running, eating, and enjoying the atmosphere.

 

As time went on, both community service groups were able to enjoy a great time with the students in Kaiping.

AISG students and Kaiping students hope to rejoin in 2017 with another fun day.
