The local China Trip took place in Guangzhou. In this trip, students visited various places such as the Baiyun Mountain, Saiwon district, the Canton Tower, Ersha Island’s art museum, and the Hungpo District. The students that went on this trip include Dian L., Diana L., Tanya K., Maria L., Nick J. and Dabina S.
On the first day, they went hiking up the famous Baiyun Mountain and ate at a dim sum place. Tanya K said, “We also explored an old street market and ate at one of the oldest restaurants in Guangzhou.” They went to Shamian Island the next day. They went up the Canton Tower, did community service at GETCH school, and taught the children English. The group also took a tour of the Saiwon district and the Hungpo District. They went to go view displays at the art museum at Ersha Island. Mr. Baier, one of the coordinators of the local trip, said,”The best part of the trip was hiking on Baiyun Mountain and I really enjoyed the art displays at Ersha.”
The group had fun exploring Guangzhou and it was definitely a memorable and a great learning experience for them.
