Crossroads: Connecting Those in Need

Crossroads can bring people together, and like their name, Crossroads Foundation HongKong does just that. Crossroads is an organization based in Hong Kong, whose goal is “to connect people in a broken world”. They offer global services such as providing resources for those in need and informing privileged people of the problems that the underprivileged face every day.

Last week from November 3 to November 5, the Crossroads team departed at 8am and traveled to the Crossroads Foundation’s headquarters in Hong Kong to provide manpower to the organization. They did many activities such as organizing clothes, packing boxes, labeling boxes, and doing simulations. The headquarters of Crossroads was a former military base, containing dorm rooms, cafes, and many other things. Derek Y. said that is was a fun experience because “the work that Crossroads does is beneficial to the world around us and it was a pleasure to contribute what I could.”

As mentioned before, Crossroads provides global services such as informing privileged people of the problems that those in need face every day. One of the activities that inform people is the “Refugee-Run.” Derek Y. said that it was the best thing about the trip to HK because “it truly was a meaningful experience and it taught me much of the issues that are occurring around the place.”
