Express or Astrill?

VPN is an essential tool for people that live in China. It allows western social media to be accessed as the Chinese government has blocked applications such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. It is important for AISG students because it allows us to do our homework at home, keep up with trends, and much more. There are 2 main VPNs used in AISG – Express and Astrill. Which one is better?

First, let’s talk about price. Express and Astrill have about the same price. Both one-year plans are about 8.33 dollars, although there are differences in the 1 month and the 6-month plans. For both month plans, Express is cheaper by 3 dollars in the one month plan and 2 dollars in the 6-month plan. Express definitely is more appealing to people on a budget.

Although something may be cheap, it may not be worth the price. Customer service is very important in any product we use. We interviewed some customers that use both Astill and Express VPN. Rahul S., a freshman, says he prefers Astrill’s customer service, as the service is “very convenient”, and the tech support is “reliable” and “professional”. Reviews for Express’s customer service are similar, so we can conclude that customer service is quite reliable for both VPNs.

Express VPN definitely is more cost-effective than Astrill. David S, a ninth grader, said that last year people preferred Astrill because there were fewer restrictions. However, Express VPN is more customer -friendly and convenient as it is easy to use.
