n_initialNew York City is considered to be the #1 city to spend Christmas in; the music, the food, the decorations all scream Christmas. If you are lucky enough to spend Christmas in New York City this year, below is a list of 5 things you should do:

  1. Visit the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. It has been a tradition every Christmas since 1931; for New Yorkers and tourists alike. This year, the tree is 78 feet tall, 47 feet in diameter, weighs 10 tons, lit with 45,000 LED lights, and topped off with a Swarovski star consisting of 25,000 crystals and 1 million facets. 2015 marks the 12th year the star has been placed in Rockefeller Center. It is lit each day from 5:30AM to 11:30PM, 24 hours on Christmas, then from 5:30PM to 9PM on New Years
  2. Visit Macy’s Santaland, open the Friday after Thanksgiving until Christmas Eve. During the holiday season, Santaland is open from 9AM to 9PM. If you have a younger sibling, take them here to get a picture with Santa Claus and be surrounded by snowmen, reindeers and Christmas cheer!
  3. Go ice-skating at Wollman Rink in Central Park. This site gives you a panoramic view of the skyline and has been featured in the movies Love Story  and Serendipity. You should definitely visit this site during the Christmas-time.
