On May 25th, the High School Union held Game Night, an evening with fun games and activities. Game Night is an annual event hosted by the High School Union (HSU). Guests from four locals schools around Guangzhou united to play games and activities and to gather their spirits. The event started at 5:30 and ended at 9:00, lasting for 3~4 hours. Guests were provided with Subway sandwiches and drinks for dinner.
Game night provides students with various physical activities to create a strong bond with other students and allow them to create group spirit. The activities included dodgeball, capture the flag, and running man. Groups were randomly formed in order for students to interact with each other. After playing dodgeball and capture the flag, students gathered to play the ‘running man’ the highlight of all games provided by HSU.
Students wore specially designed bibs with name tags attached to play the running man. Participants had to rip off the other team member’s name tags while running away from the bell man, who can attack all participants. Running man was held in the buildings surrounding the Ampi theater. The current HSU coordinator, Richard Van (G10), commented on the success of Game Night saying, “This Game Night was a success and will always be a success”. Other students who participated in the game night also talked about fun games and interaction with local students.
