World’s Highest Cat Walk

We know that nowadays architects from all over the world can design amazing and incredible monuments. Here in China, they are taking it to a whole new level.

Israeli architect Haim Dotan has designed world´s highest and longest glass-bottom bridge based in Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, hanging above the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, this bridge is 430 meters long, 6 meters wide and floats over 300-meter vertical drop. It´s construction was expected to be finished at the end of 2015 , it will open in May this year.

This bridge will also serve as a runway for fashion shows and as the highest bungee jump, it can hold up to 800 people at once, the architect´s vision was to: “Build a glass structure that fades into the clouds so that tourists may enjoy the stunning views”; it´s glass is 25 times stronger and 12 times thicker than the normal glass providing safety for tourists and people form the local area . It´s location also inspired James Cameron for his movie “Avatar”.

This wonderful monument is costing around 250 million yuan (£25m), but will surely have millions of visits from all around the world. So, if you’re a fan of terrifying glass-bottom bridges, you’re in luck because China is building what will be the longest and tallest glass suspension bridge in the world.
