K-Pop Anthems

*Disclaimer* Hoe has been a word used in the past to degrade women, but is now used by many women to empower themselves and their sexuality. Hoe anthems are not anthems that insult women or men in any way—instead, they are songs that empower and boost the confidence of both men and women. YouTube mashups of these hoe anthems have been increasing in popularity in recent months. Hoe anthems are often extremely powerful, catchy or groovy songs that will make you go down on the dance floor and dance like you don’t care.

If you are new to K-pop, here is some background information: K-pop stands for Korean Pop and K-pop artists are often called idols. Although solo K-pop artists also exist in this industry, most K-pop artists are in groups of 3 to even 13 members. K-pop bands range from dance groups to ballad groups to bands with live performance with instruments such as pianos, drums and bass guitars. Once you fall into the deep hole of loving K-pop and K-pop bands, you will struggle to get out of it.

K-pop hoe anthem mashups have been extremely popular on YouTube and so, I decided to add in some of my all-time favorite K-pop “hoe anthems”:

  • “Body” by MINO (2016)
  • “24 Hours” by SUNMI (2014)
  • “Ah Yeah” by EXID (2015)
  • “Dally” by Hyolyn (2018)
  • “Move” by Taemin (2017)
  • “Mommae” by Jay Park feat. UglyDuck (2015)
  • “Expect” by Girl’s Day (2013)
  • “Something” by Girl’s Day
  • “Mirotic” by TVXQ (2008)
  • “The Eve” EXO (2017)
  • “How’s This” by HyunA (2016)
  • “BOSS” by NCT U (2017)
  • “A.D.T.O.Y” (“All Day Think Of You”) by 2PM (2013)
  • “Something” by Girl’s Day (2015)
  • “Paradise Lost” by Gain (2015)
  • “Roll Deep” by HyunA (2015)
  • “Lip n Hip” by HyunA (2017)
  • “Hello B*****s” by CL (2015)
  • “Coming of Age Ceremony” by Park Jiyoon (2000)
  • “Baby Don’t Stop” by NCT U (2018)
  • “Abradacabra” by Brown Eyed Girls (2009)

My personal favorites of this list are “Hello B*****s” by CL and “Baby Don’t Stop” by NCT U. CL’s song will immediately boost your confidence and will make you dance  to hiphop with its sickening (or cool) melody and abstract lyrics, whereas NCT U’s “Baby Don’t Stop” is a groovy, medium-paced dance song with a unique vibe.

**Warning**

Songs listed above are extremely catchy and chorus melodies of these songs will be stuck in your mind, so do not listen to these songs before or while studying, exams and or other serious occasions.
