Broncos and Panthers Showdown at Superbowl 50

On February 7th, 2016, the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers went head to head at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California in the 50th annual Super Bowl. After an intense game, refereed by Clete Blakeman, the Denver Broncos ultimately defeated the Carolina Panthers by a score of 24-10. This earned the Broncos their third Super Bowl title.

Early in the game, the Broncos took the lead, never losing it once throughout its duration. Denver’s defence was very limiting to Cam Newton, the quarterback for the Panthers, leading to seven sacks and three turnovers.

However, Carolina’s defence held Denver’s offence, keeping the game quite close and without a touchdown until late in the fourth quarter.

The game was opened by Lady Gaga singing the American National Anthem, and the Super Bowl’s halftime show was lead by the band Coldplay this year. Later in the show, the band was joined by pop stars Beyonce and Bruno Mars. Both Bruno Mars and Beyonce have performed at past Super Bowls, but this was Coldplay’s first time.

The Most Valuable Player that was named for this game was Denver linebacker, Von Miller. Also, during the game, Miller recorded two forced fumbles, two and a half sacks, and five solo tackles. Overall, the game was fast-paced, exciting, and a great watch for all the viewers around the world.
