Mario Kart Tour is scheduled to be released in IOS and Android application stores on September 25. The app is free for downloading but will include optional in-app purchases.

According to the official website of Mario Kart Tour, the game will incorporate “real-world locations.” However, classic maps and characters will also be included, for players who want the original sensation of Mario Kart.

The original Mario Kart was a staple in many people’s childhoods. People grew up with the game, including many people today. Sophomore PaoPing Y. states that “[She] absolutely loved that game when [she] was young. [She] played it every chance [she] could; it provided a platform for [her] to have fun with [her] friends.”

The release of Mario Kart Tour will also allow players of the original game to reminisce to memories. Sanshiro M., who pre-ordered the app on the App Store notes, “I played it when I was young, up until middle school. I want to play it again, on a convenient device.” He also adds, “Growing up in a Japanese household exposed me to many games, but I always enjoyed Mario Kart the most.”

I am also very excited about the release of this game—whether it was screaming with my friends, or screaming at my friends—Mario Kart provided countless hours of entertainment and brought friendships closer together—by first tearing them apart :).
