The 74th season of the National Basketball Association (NBA) will begin October 23 and will end mid-June of 2020.

Coming into this season, there were many major trades which has made the league more interesting and balanced. Anthony Davis got traded to the Los Angeles Lakers to pair up with Lebron James. Davis is currently ranked top 5 among the players in his position, which has resulted in the Lakers being one of the most anticipated teams this year. Another major trade was Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to the Los Angeles Clippers, which has resulted in the Clippers becoming a league powerhouse.

Junior Tyler K. stated, “I believe the game will be more interesting now, as the teams are more balanced. Over the last few years, it was a given that the Golden State Warriors would make the finals, however, it’s different now.”

Over the last five years, the Golden State Warriors have created a record with making into finals each year and winning three championships. The Warriors created a super team with four all-stars: Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant and Steph Curry. However, with the trades and preseason performances, many people are doubting whether the Warriors would perform their best this year.

Many NBA analysts believe the doubt has put a chip on the Warriors and will motivate them to work harder than ever, instead of being on “cruise mode” like they have been over the last few years.
