Seniors’ Sleeping Trends

Therefore, many IB students are not able to get enough sleep, spending their night studying for their various IB courses, which include a lot of memorizing along with , seniors experience great amount of stress during the time they are awake. In particular, seniors, along with their devastating IB coursework, are required to work on university applications and get ready for the IB exams, which adds serious to their already existing burden.

Due to this reason, seniors are unable to have a great amount of sleep time, come to school looking exhausted and devastated. Blake, a senior, stated that “since I have a lot to study, I am not able to do what I want to do and have to reduce my sleep to finish all the assignments.”

In order to find out whether seniors have a good sleep time, I interviewed several seniors about their sleeping trends. According to these seniors, they stated that they experience a great sleep every night, with seniors such as Lauren Jeong and William Yam saying that they “never wake up after asleep” and that “sleeping is the happiest time I experience after I get home”.

As you can see from this, most of the seniors sleep extremely well since sleep is the only time they can get some real rest and spend time away from their academics. Seniors tend to have an extremely pleasant time in their sleep, which according to Luke Song, “makes him feel refreshed and recharged to endure another day of heavy loads of assignments that are going to be laid in front of me. For this reason, I tend to sleep as much as I can, whenever the opportunity given.”

Seniors are currently taking the IB Final exam and this is a typical time where they would not be able to find a great amount of time to use to sleep. To give an advice to the seniors, “studying is important but getting enough amount of sleep to be in the best condition when taking the test is also important!”
