The Beating?

On December 17th, the Varsity Basketball team had a friendly match with the teachers, with the boys team getting smashed by 30 points while the girls team dominated the female staff.

The match was announced a week before the match up and both sides seemed extremely confident and while the teachers were dubbing the match “The Beating” (Coach Clem), 10 grade varsity team player Richie Lui said “I’m dropping 30 on them” and “I’m gonna block Mr. Charles” Right before the game, team captain Tyler Kydd reminded the team constantly that the staff were “old and can’t run” reminding us to use our stamina as speed as advantages.

The match however wasn’t even close as within 60 seconds into the first quarter, the Varsity team were down 10 points. Mr. Clem, Mr. Tilly, Mr. Charles were simply unstoppable and lead the staff to an overwhelming victory of 34-67.

A game’s organizer Mr. Kydd commented on email “The activities office cannot thank everyone enough for the amazing experience you gave our student-athletes yesterday. It was truly a great event, which will continue for many years to come. 2021 will be even better with Ram supporters in the stands.”

  I totally agree with this statement and I think it was a really special event for the athletes and faculty members as everyone was joking around and having a good time. This event was really fun for all the participants, no matter win or lose and was a good chance to know our teachers more.
