About two weekends ago, both the boys’ and girls’ varsity teams played in the AISG invitational tournament. The schools that participated were BSG, NCPA, QSIS, and BISGZ.
Both teams were happy to be able to play in a tournament after the long wait due to the pandemic. The pandemic led to there being few games and no tournaments which led to the AISG Rams not being able to show the talent that they hold. The AISG tournament was the perfect chance to show the improvement over the year and how the Rams overcame difficulties.
“We’ve all tried our best and through the tournament, we improved as a team.” Said Sharon in grade 11
First, the girls didn’t win the sportsmanship award, but they did receive a second-place trophy that was well deserved because of the hard work they put in. The game for the first-place trophy was close since they had to go into overtime. All girls had fun, learned new skills, worked hard, and grew as a team.
The boys also won second place and that award showed the effort they put into the game. The boys showcased their talent as they were up against NCPA for the first-place trophy and only lost by a couple of points.
“I guess it was a good idea as it enabled us to be able to play other schools in a safe environment through this pandemic and I think it helped us to grow closer as a team since we were together the whole day.” Said Legrand M. in grade 10
Even though both the boys and girls got the second-place trophy they all have a lot of talent and each and every person on the team should be proud of the talent that they hold. Hopefully, the next tournament that happens…both teams bring a first-place trophy home. Go Rams!
