Jujutsu Kaisen 0 has come to theaters!

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 received an anime film adaptation by MAPPA, which was directed by Sunghoo Park. Gege Akutami’s manga series Jujutsu Kaisen 0 came to theaters as a movie on Feb 5th 2022.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is a Japanese manga series, the story centers around Yuta Okkotsu, a 16-year-old high-school student, who is haunted by Rika Orimoto, the cursed spirit of his childhood friend who died six years ago.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 winds back the clock and instead of focusing on the main characters in the original series -, Yuji Itadori and his peers, Gege Akutami focuses on the level 2 sorcerers at Jujutsu School. Fans all around the globe delight in the change of characters as they get to see the perspective of the upperclassman of the main protagonist in the series

“In the original story I loved the level 2 students at the jujutsu school and being able to see them in their freshman years exites me so much!” says Yeji

From April to July 2017, Shueisha’s magazine Jump GIGA serialized the manga, which was previously titled Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School. After Akutami released Jujutsu Kaisen in 2018, the series was renamed Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and released in a single Tankbon volume in December 2018, making it a precursor. Viz Media was given the right to release it in English in North America.
