Sing, Strings, and Wind: Music to End the Year

• Bookmarks: 301226

The annual High School Spring Concert in AISG will take place at Science Park, at 6:00pm Tuesday May 24th. This is an evening for those that are interested in what the student musicians have for us, and it will also be a great opportunity to relax before cramming for the final exams that will take place from June 1 to 3. Performing groups will include the high school concert band, string orchestra, jazz band and high school choir. With each group performing 3-4 of their best pieces, it will surely be an amazing night.

The performers in the concert have already gained experience from previous concert that was held in December of 2015, the Winter concert. When I asked Gilia Wu, a 9th grade band percussionist, what she thought of the upcoming concert, she said, “I’m not as nervous as I was last time, there is a lot of solo parts in the pieces we are going to perform but I’m quite confident and I’m hoping that I won’t mess up during the concert.” In her interview, choir performer Angela Lin, grade 9, said, “I try my best in every practice sessions we have, and I hope that that will pay off during our final performance.” Violinist Agnes Lau commented on the upcoming concert as an exciting event, and she’s hoping that the majority of the student body can show up during the concert and support them.

Please come and watch our AISG instrumental performers on Tuesday, May 24, and good luck to all students who are a part of the presenting groups!
