APAC Dance is still a newly-formed APAC group, but already sports over 10 members. People who are not as fond of joining a sports group can now embrace their liking for dance. Along with APAC Dance a number of new APAC teams have popped up, such as the Quiz Bowl team. Last year’s APAC Dance group attended both workshops for dance with other schools as well as a conference at the Shanghai American School of Puxi (SASPX). When they returned from the conference they commented that this year it was exciting to learn different and more effective dance techniques. Gwen Farm and Daniel Kim, the coordinators for APAC dance said that they hope to try new styles of more formal dance with contemporary and jazz dancing. They were also very enthusiastic about cooperating with their team and other schools to choreograph their performances. Gwen and Daniel said that in comparison to other sports APAC Dance is different because it asks students to utilize their creativity to create a story using dance. According to them, dance is also not just one person, but a team cooperating as one, like a well-oiled machine. Last year APAC dance had very fluid and flowing performances; much of the audience hopes that they keep up their exceptional work.
