A Senior Outing To Remember

On Sunday, March 26th, the seniors went to Chimelong amusement park to spend some quality bonding time as a celebration for finishing mocks. Although the weather was gloomy when the grade gathered at the South Gate in the morning, the sun came out in the afternoon as the weather forecast predicted. StuCo presented us with a challenge: the top three students that rode the scariest roller coasters would receive a 100RMB Starbucks gift card. Everyone was determined to win the prize, and so the grade split up into smaller friend groups and headed inside.

The Dive Coaster was a favorite for those that craved an adrenaline rush as it consisted of a 90 degree, 197 foot vertical drop that follows into a loop. The Half Pipe ride also attracted a lot of seniors as it was a replication of a skateboard on a tramp – the scary thing was that when it reaches the end of the tramp, you also feel like falling off. Another favorite is the Motorbike coaster in which the seats were structured as motorbikes and it is the fastest coaster at the amusement park.

There were also more relaxing rides such as the Sky Bicycle that required the passengers to cycle along the track. It was a good way to enjoy the nature that the ride was situated in or have a relaxing conversation with a friend. The Rotating Cup brought back a lot of childhood memories such as Alice in Wonderland.

Around noon, the seniors gathered at the food court for a grade lunch. Although there were not a lot of options, we were content with whatever they offered. It was a fun time, filled with lots of laughter and photos. After that, we split into different groups once again to watch a variety of 4D movies, took a group photo, and called it a day. Overall, it was a great way to bond and spend time with one another before we go off to university in a few months.

Update: The three winners were Nancy Peng, Eric Tsai and Alex Zhuang. Congratulations!
