On April 12th, AISG badminton team headed towards Seoul, South Korea for the APAC badminton tournament for 2016-17. The tournament took place at Seoul Foreign School (SFS). APAC Badminton tournament consisted of Seoul Foreign School (SFS), United Nations International School of Hanoi (UNIS), Brent International School (BRENT), Shanghai American School Puxi (SASPX), Western Academy Beijing (WAB) and us, American International School of Guangzhou (AISG). The three-day tournament, which is full of hard work by all teams participated was overall, a great success. Prior to APAC, AISG played in Tri-Cities resulting in 3rd for girls and 4th for the boys. With constant hand hard practice, AISG strived to play better, be better, but most importantly, have fun in this APAC.

With this mentality, AISG boys and girls resulted in one of AISG’s best records in the past couple of years and the best records this year! The badminton team broke our past records with their 3rd place for APAC badminton boys division, trailing just behind WAB, who ended with 2nd and SASPX with 1st. Then there were the girls who did even better than the boys, taking 2nd place in the APAC badminton for girls division, falling shortly behind SASPX who got 1st.

With all the APAC badminton teams growing exceptionally stronger and better over the years, AISG will continue to work hard and play their best to secure the 1st place and to also have a good time. With high hopes for the next Badminton, the AISG APAC badminton team will strive to do even better in the next season, looking to do their best next season as well.
