A New Season for Boys’ Basketball

The boys’ basketball season has started again! Coached by Mr. Elliot, the team is preparing for the season to come, hoping to win the many tournaments they will compete in. So far, they have had two games, one against BSG (British School of Guangzhou) and one against a local Chinese high school. Mr. Elliot said that they “beat BSG, that was [their] first big win”, but they “lost to a local Chinese high school the week before.” The boys’ basketball team also has a game today after school.  As for the hopes he has for the team, “We hope to win the league, we hope to win the league tournament.” He also hopes the team will place in the top 3 in APAC. Mr. Elliot said that if nothing else, he hopes the team will learn about “working hard and playing together and learning about each other and the game of basketball.”

There will be two tournaments before GISAC, on the 12th and 13th of January and the 19th and 20th of January. These will be invitational tournaments, and AISG will invite schools such as the NBA school from Dongguan, local high schools, and some other international teams. The GISAC tournament will be on January 26 and 27, with APAC following shortly after. They will also be competing in Tri-Cities and the city league.
