A Preview of Yangshuo

Yangshuo is a beautiful city in Southern China, located in the Guangxi region. It is filled with gorgeous landscapes and fresh air, making it the perfect place for leisure and fun. This year’s seniors, following the paths of previous graduating classes, will be traveling to Yangshuo for their final China Trips. This experience will be memorable and refreshing for them, as they would be going through a similar trip as from 8th grade.

On the way to Yangshuo, you will immediately notice the difference in terms of nature compared to Guangzhou. The whole city is filled with plants and limestone karsts, with the air you breathe in being unbelievably refreshing. What sets Yangshuo apart from other Chinese gargantuan, industrial cities is that it has preserved its surrounding nature excellently. There aren’t many apartments or skyscrapers, and the majority of the building are made in a traditional Chinese style. You can enjoy the beauty of Chinese culture and the stunning natural elements of Yangshuo.

The two main places that you must visit during your trip there would West Street and Yulong River. The reason why these venues are important is because they highlight the cultural, natural, and also touristy aspects of Yangshuo.

The first place you will probably visit is West Street. During a school trip, there is a big chance that your hotel would be located on West Street, as the location is close to most venues. West Street is basically a long street filled with activities, food, and souvenirs for tourists. Because so many foreigners tend to visit this street, most of the store has bilingual shop signs and is truly a fun place to hang out in. It is famous for its traditional architecture, delicious food, and its cheerful night scene. The hotels are also great quality. Rooms are cheap, clean, and most have breakfast options below the rooms. Overall, West Street is a great place for relaxation and fun. Another place that you must visit is Yulong River. This river truly embodies the beautiful nature of Yangshuo, flowing through the magnificent limestone mountains. I would recommend you to take a ride on a bamboo raft through the river, as it allows you to enjoy the stunning view of Yangshuo’s country life and nature.

Overall, Yangshuo is a great place to let go and free yourself from the stressful environment of school and the highly polluted air of Guangzhou.
