March 28, just before Spring Break marked the start of AISG’s 2022 Spring Spirit Week. Spirit Week is Spirit Week is run by AISG’s StuCo to unite AISG’s community and enhance school spirit!

This school year, students got to vote on the days for Spirit Week on StuCo’s Instagram page (@aisgzstuco). With all the recent changes in the school, Spirit Week provides consistency for everyone and brings students and teachers together to form one strong community.

This year the student’s voted for Pajama Day, Twin Day, Fandom Day, Monochrome Day, and Teacher-Student Swap Day. Here are some photo highlights of the week.

Pajama Day

StuCo brought back the beloved and comfortable Pajama Day for Spirit week. Students all over the school brought plushies and blankets to max out their comfort levels. This makes Pajama Day another fan favorite day in Spirit Week.

Twin Day

Almost every year Twin Day is present during Spirit Week in AISG.  Twin Day has become one of the students’ favorite Spirit Days because it allows them to match their outfits with their friends. Students and faculty walked to school in silly or fashionable matching outfits.

Fandom Day

Fandom Day is a new addition to AISG’s Spirit Week. For those of you unfamiliar with the term “fandom,” it can be described as being a fan of a particular person, team, fictional series, etc. regarded collectively as a community or subculture. Fandom Day is a day designated for celebrating your fandom of choice.

Monochrome day

Monochromatic day is one of the easiest days to participate in during Spirit Week. Just wear one color that have different textures and/or similar shades of that color for an overall tonal look. Even before monochrome day students at AISG would already wear all black for their everyday school fits!

“I really liked monochrome day because you get to see colors you don’t usually see people wear on a normal school day. Also, I had an excuse to buy a bucket hat from Hollister.” said Alicia B., a senior.

Teacher Student Swap Day

Another new addition to AISG’s Spirit Week. Students dressed as their favorite teachers while teachers dressed as either students.

“I dressed up as Ms. Randall because you can easily recognize her in the school, I even borrowed one of her shirts and bought a fake nose ring to really manifest the Ms. Randall-ness,”  said Christine L., a freshman.
