On Friday, April 2nd, the last day before the ever so anticipated April break for AISG students and staff, the annual AISG Bonfire Night was held on the roof of AISG’s main building- a perfect place to relax and enjoy leisurely fun with friends.

During the event, high school students and teachers alike had the opportunity to showcase their talents through performances such as solo singing, instrumental performances, duets, and singing accompanied by instruments. In addition, there were a few adorably exciting ‘prom-posals,’ and prom skits as prom is approaching.

The entire roof was filled with beanbags on carpets, dinner tables, and chairs, which all provided an excellent view of the performances taking place. There was even a TV near the beanbags where students could connect their Nintendo Switch and enjoy their video games together, which was noted as “One of the best parts of Bonfire Night” by sophomore student Lihn Taylor.

To top it all off, graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows were provided for all students to make s’mores, using the fire pits placed out around the area. As the sunset and night began to fall, the blaze of the fires only grew brighter, and more and more marshmallows were being roasted to the delight of students and teachers.

Although the microphone used for the singing performances was not being particularly cooperative and consistently malfunctioned, Bonfire Night of 2021 was an overall success and an excellent way for the AISG high school community to end the week before a well-deserved break.
