AISG Christmas Fun: The 2017 Holiday Bazaar

• Bookmarks: 602655

The Holiday Bazaar is a yearly school event similar in nature to Family Fun Day where community service groups host activities and sell food to raise money for their groups. The Bazaar was hosted at the Ersha campus on December 12. The Bazaar was open to children of all ages and their parents to enjoy and donate money. The event lasted from 10am to 4pm, though usually not everyone still attended after 3pm.

Many students and teachers participated in the event by selling different products and hosting different games. For example, Migrant Link sold lemonade and hosted limbo, High School Union sold s’mores and  hosted ballon tag, and Crossroads hosted darts. Many food companies were also on site for the Bazaar, selling overpriced products to those who wanted a more complete meal. Aside from all the different booths, there was also a stage where some bands and choir groups performed for all who were present.

Around noon, students, teachers, and parents started to roam the campus buying products that appealed to them and participating in the activities. One of the most popular games was the Teacher Dunk Tank. The game has a participant sitting on top of a pool of water, while another participant would be throwing a ball at a button which would release the chair that the caged participant was sitting on. Many teachers volunteered to become the target for students and parents, including Mr. Tragert.

After the SAT ended at Science Park, more students came to the Ersha campus to help out with the event. Although it was unnecessary as most people were already leaving. Buses were available at 3:30 and 4:30 to transport students over to the Science Park campus to enjoy the musical at the end of the day. Overall, it was a very fulfilling day as money was made, food was eaten, and people were happy.
