AISG Fall Spirit Week, Great Break from Online Learning!

• Bookmarks: 511606

Fall Spirit Week took place at AISG from October 31 to November 4. Unfortunately, Monday and Tuesday were online, but students and teachers still showed their spirit virtually.

Monday was Halloween day where students dressed up as anything, and one of the highlights was Mr. Tilly’s banana costume. Tuesday was Adam Sandler Day.

Due to the possibility of Wednesday continuing to be online, StuCo changed Wednesday from Creative Carry Day to Too Cool for School. Luckily, school becomes in-person, making Wednesday a mixture of both.

Thursday was Monochrome day, where people who wanted to participate had to dress up in just one color and at the end of the day, there was an optional group photo of everyone who participated.

Friday was Pajama Day, where students and teachers alike showed off their stylish and comfortable pajamas. Some students even brought blankets to school.

Unfortunately, some students weren’t able to join in-person school that began on Wednesday due to their districts being in lockdown. However, many did still show their spirit online.

During the week, anyone who participated in dressing up was able to collect raffle tickets from the third-floor stair area for the chance to win prizes varying from Ms. Dean’s baked sweets to Ram Shack coupons. The winners of these prizes will be announced once students go back to in-person learning.

“I think that spirit week is a good way to build school community. To make people feel like they’re involved in something. It’s also just fun, to be able to go to school in pajamas or to dress up in Halloween costumes because these are things we don’t get to do on a normal school day. I do think spirit week was a nice “break” from online learning, it would’ve made class more entertaining if more people had dressed up.” – Elsie Z., a junior at AISG and a member of Student Council.

“I think it was great to participate in spirit week because it shows our school community being as a whole cooperatively. I think it was a nice break from being online and we got to go to school in-person.” – Katherine L, a freshman.
