Alumni of AISG: Hye Jin Chang

Our second featured alumna is Hye Jin Chang, who graduated in 2017. Below she shares her experiences post-high school graduation, detailing her adaptation to university in South Korea. 

“I am currently majoring in Life Science & Biotechnology at Yonsei University of South Korea. It is a highly selective school and therefore, it is competitive. The grading system is totally different to what I have been used to, and I have definitely realized that success requires a lot of effort. However, the merit of being in a university is that you have complete freedom on your schedule and what classes you want to take (except those course requirements). It’s liberating not have anyone nagging at you, but definitely stressful at the same time to experience having certain responsibilities that you’ve never dealt with before. I am in my second semester, but I am still in the process of learning. I feel like I have just entered a bigger world, meeting new people and trying new things. Some of my friends here are always surprised when they hear about my life experiences from the past and from that, I realize how privileged I was to attend a school like AISG.”
