This year’s APAC Tennis took place from October 24 to 26, and was hosted by AISG. Both the boys’ and girls’ AISG team got 5th place, but the girls’ team received the sportsmanship award.
The schools that participated this year were Concordia International School of Shanghai (CISS), Shanghai International School of Pudong (SASPD), Taejon Christian International School (TCIS), Western Academy of Beijing (WAB), and AISG.
Even though AISG got 5th place, everyone on the team had a fun time engaging both athletically and socially with players from other schools. Max J., a freshman in his first APAC tournament said, “The games were very tough and I had to play against players with more experience than me. [However,] I still enjoyed every moment during APAC tennis.”
Neglecting the results, our tennis team gained an incredible amount of valuable experience that will help our players improve for next year’s tournament. After a tough match against the SASPD boys doubles, Hayden H. said, “They had a lot of tactics that they practiced a lot of times. This made me realize the importance of having to be experienced.”
To have better results for next year’s APAC tennis, many of the tennis team will start off-season training for continuous training and practices.
