Apple’s iPhone 7: Who Needs an Audio Jack?

The release event of the new iPhone in early September every year has evidently become an annual “tradition” over the years, since its revolutionary first appearance on the market in 2007. Despite fading from its peak of excitement and anticipation with decline in advancements in the eyes of consumers, the release of the phone has still stood out as one of the most followed events in the technological field.The iPhone products have repeatedly been the target of criticism and victim of jokes due to its lack of innovation and strangely added features in the “Post-Jobs” era. The year of 2016 with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus has been no different than any other year, with online users gathering with their words of pitchforks and flames to “roast” the new phone with harsh and humorous comments. This year’s iPhone has been infamously named as the “exact” same phone as the 6s, simply changing the antenna lines on the back and adding a new Jet Black color to the lineup.

Waterproof mobile phones are not considered supreme in the modern day, but the addition to a highly-advanced piece of technology such as the iPhone will bring great satisfaction to many fans of the devices. In addition, the sleek Jet Black colored back cover of the phone may be a magnet to fingerprints, but its revival of the traditional iPhone 3g and 4 look brings back nostalgia and great favor. The home button has also been changed by implementing the Taptic-feedback (as Apple calls it)  technology found previously in the new Macbook Pro’s, which simulates the feeling of pressing down the home button, when in reality, nothing is moving on the device. iPhones have always been remembered for its classic home button on the bottom, but rejected for its poor durability. With the removal of a physical home button, users will not have to worry more about breaking the home button anymore.

Some may say that smartphone users who constantly return to Apple to make purchases are part of an movement called “bandwagoning” (which is the act of following mainstream products), but even the most tech-savvy users have stated that Apple perfects the phone in terms of design and handling (though it may seem unattractive to some). Arguably, the company’s success in implementing the most modern technology in the most efficient and effective way that is user-friendly to the major population has become one of the most notable achievements in the present day world.
