Our quiz bowl team is heading to their Asian Quiz Bowl Championships this weekend! With their team of 13, they head to Singapore American International School. The captains are Jacky L., Stanley W. and Abby P. They have prepared for weeks for this championship, practicing weekly out of class. Together, they discussed their strengths and weaknesses.
I interviewed the team captain, Jacky L., on how he feels about the championships. He said, “We are a little nervous since Singapore American School is the stronger team out there. However, we did beat them last day over a margin of over 200 points.” He said they were confident in bringing back a win and have faith that they will do well.
After this championship, the quiz bowl team has another competition on the 24th of March in Guangzhou. Many international schools from all over the world such as El Salvador will compete to win. To support our Rams, we should wish all the players good luck as our quiz bowl team is bring three teams with many first time players. Jacky said, “They deserve some encouragement, respect and love for their courage.” Abby P., a captain for one of the three teams, is going to this championship for the first time. She says, “I feel nervous but excited on how we are going to perform and how the other teams will perform.”
