The Bonfire is coming up this Friday, February 15th! It is an annual event organized by student organization Pulse that aims to gain revenue for prom, connect and bond students, and raise community spirits. Tickets are still on sale in front of the cafe and will still be available last minute at the event.
The Bonfire will be held at the plaza with beanbags, cozy sofas, and purchasable snacks. It will be a great chance for you to get comfy with your friends and have a fun, relaxing night. It is also a great chance for you to take your mind off from the distressing first week of school!
There are three major attractions of the Bonfire: buffet, performances, and s’mores! As always, Sodexo will provide a buffet for students on the night. Moreover, there are more performances this year than last year–our school’s talented performers are increasing in number every year! I got the honor to interview one of the performers–senior pianist Michael L. The talented pianist improvises what he is going to perform–isn’t that insane?! As Michael claimed, “[he] enjoy[s] performing so [he] look[s] forward to this and every other performance.” However, he has heard a lot of complaints “on the ticket price” and thinks that if “they did the same thing as open mic night where other ppl can also choose to perform after the official stuff”, it would attract more people to go. Lastly, there will be one free chance for you to cook your own s’more!
Except performers, Pulse members themselves are excited about this event too. According to one of the executive officers Bonny C, “All members in Pulse has worked extremely hard together to plan this event” and there are “approximately 50 high schoolers attending”. Regarding to gaining revenue for prom, she claims that “Pulse executive members has done calculations before the activity” and the current success with this activity will guarantee students with a better prom–another thing to look forward to!
After hearing these exciting news, are you thrilled and ready to bond at the Bonfire?
