BTS Final Concert

BTS began their journey for the “Love Yourself” World Tour on August 25, 2018 where they visited twelve countries. On May 4, 2019 they began the “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” tour which was a continuation to the “Love Yourself.” After 430 days of touring around the world, BTS is ending the “Love Yourself” era.

BTS dropped their first album for the “Love Yourself” trilogy on September 18, 2017 titled “Love Yourself: Her” with its lead single “DNA.” They than dropped the second album of the trilogy titled “Love Yourself: Tear” on May 18, 2018 its its lead single “Fake Love.” The third leg of the trilogy released on August 24, 2018 with the track “Idol” as the lead single. BTS then announced that the date for their world tour “Love Yourself” would begin August 25, 2018. BTS than dropped their album “Map of the Soul: Persona” on April 12, 2019. They began their tour for “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” on May 4, 2019.

BTS announced their final concert for the “Love Yourself” era would take place on October 26th, 27th and 29. The concert took place at the Seoul Olympic Stadium which is where their first concert for the world tour began. On the first night of the finale the concert was live streamed for their fans also knows as ARMY to watch. This was a good opportunity for international fans to be able to watch the concert. Hours before the concert began fans gathered at the stadium where they were able to write messages for BTS on the “ARMY Wall.” Fans were also able to buy official merchandise as well as un-official merchandise that were handmade by other ARMYs.

The group began their concert at around 7 PM with the opening song “Dionysus.” BTS went thought their setlist witch included 22 songs. The emotions came at the end of the concert when BTS all gave a small speech on what being on tour has been like and how grateful they are to have such amazing fans. “Today, I just want to tell you how thankful I am” said V. When RM (the leader of the group) gave his speech he gave us an insight of what the journey throughout this tour has been. RM says that their fans have taught them so many valuable lessons throughout the “Love Yourself” tour and he can proudly say that he is learning to love himself. RM continued by saying “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself ends here, but our journey to find ways to love ourselves will continue, so let’s hold each other’s hands and move forward.” RM feels sad that the tour has come to an end and wishes there was a better phrase than “I love you” to express how he feels.

BTS ends their concert with “Mikrocosmos” where over 300 drones light up the sky to form the shapes of plants and the BTS and ARMY logos. Fireworks light up the sky of Seoul and with that BTS take their final bow together for the “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” era.
