Cancelled: Art Trip to Italy

• Bookmarks: 472496

Originally, a group of students were going to go on an art trip to Italy, which would include exploring the cities of Rome, Florence, and Venice from February 9th to 18th this Chinese New Year. However, only 14 students signed up for the art trip while the minimum requirement was 16. As a result of not reaching the minimum number of participants, the trip was cancelled.

“Although we could continue organizing the trip with 14 students, it would require more time consensus with the parents as there would be changes in the prices,” said IB art teacher Ms. Cynthia Mora.  According to Ms. Mora, the art trip was not only an opportunity to learn more about art and its history, but also a great opportunity to explore the Western culture.

Students who signed up to go on the art trip are disappointed about the art trip being cancelled. Junior Yoon Seo H. said, “I’m still really disappointed that the trip got cancelled because most students agreed to pay extra so we could still go on the trip, but in the end, it still got cancelled.”

Ms. Mora hopes that she’ll be able to organize another art trip next year and that there will be more students who sign up.
