Come to Bonfire Night!

Have you ever wanted to go to a bonfire? PULSE will be holding a bonfire night on Friday, January 26 starting at 5:30 and ending around 8. It will take place in the foyer right outside of the theatre, before the main stairs. At the bonfire, there will be a buffet with many different types of food, marshmallows, music and live performances. The performances will be done by high school students and they will either be singing or be playing an instrument.

There will be an actual fire at the bonfire. In order to prevent accidents from happening, there will not be a large fire, but three medium fires. Last year, there was a winter formal but because it was not successful, PULSE decided to try something new this year and have Bonfire Night.

The dress code for the Bonfire is comfortable and warm wear, and it is recommended to show up in sweatpants and hoodies. Belle F., the coordinator of PULSE, said, “It is still pretty chilly out and we want to take away the formal feel that comes along with most PULSE events.”

In Belle’s opinion, the event would be a lot of fun. She said, “Part of the inspiration came from the idea in many high school focused films that have a big bonfire on a beach to bring students closer together. While we may not have a beach close to us, we still have the opportunity to bring students together and to unite our school, after all, that is PULSE’s goal.”

Tickets are on sale right now outside the cafeteria for 50 RMB, including a free s’more, live performances, a buffet and a bus ride home. See you there!
