On Friday 9 March (or this Friday!), Connect4Cancer will be hosting its first Showcase in the SP theatre. It will include various artistic performances by students from middle and high school; however, it is certainly not like StuCo’s talent show. It’s not a competition of talent; it is simply an opportunity to showcase it. There is no limit on the types of acts that can be held, encouraging creativity. Acts range from dancing to singing, to whatever unconventional options students propose. The group held auditions on 23 – 26 January and even offered a cupcake to anyone who tried out.
The main purpose of this event is to raise money for the Children’s Hope Foundation based in Guangzhou in order to be able to fund the treatment of underprivileged children who live with cancer. Connect4Cancer frequently supports and visits the organization.
Tickets are 25RMB for students and 50RMB for adults. All students, parents, and teachers are welcome. There will also be food and other booth sales outside the auditorium.
