Former world boxing champion Floyd Mayweather at the age of 43 have decided to step back into the ring with… Logan Paul? Mayweather is widely regarded as one of the best boxers in the history of the sport. He has a flawless 50-0 record with 27 knockouts to his name. And meanwhile Logan Paul a 25 year old YouTuber who has never won a professional boxing match in he’s life… Need I say more? The exhibition bout is set on Feb. 20. 2021.
This whole bout started when Logan Paul’s manager comes up to him, ‘Logan would you fight Floyd Mayweather?’ The idea of sharing the ring with Mayweather sounded too much of a joke to Logan, to the point that he refused to believe the possibility of it even after being asked to sign a contract. “I think a month later he approached me with a contract saying if you sign here you’ll be fighting Floyd Mayweather,” he’s manager Jeff said. “I said, ‘Sure Jeff, I’ll sign your fantasy contact.’ At this point an unstoppable series of negotiations went on for months after Paul sign the dotted line. To his and many of ours surprise, the fight eventually came together.
Now the question people are asking is that who will win? While Logan has the size and reach advantage, it means nothing against a professional boxer as fast and technical as Floyd Mayweather. And while Paul fans claim that he’ll end the bout with one punch, Mayweather fans disagree and claim that the bout is an easy win for the 43 year old 5 weight class champion. In a recent press conference Mayweather was heard saying “I have never shied away from doing things differently throughout my career and fighting Logan Paul in this special exhibition is just another opportunity for me to do it again.”
No matter how this bout turns out, it will benefit both of the individuals greatly giving them attention and social media fame, while making millions of dollars in a half an hour fight. Let’s all get ready for Feb. 20 as no matter who wins, it is a fight going down on the history books.
