Farewell to our Library

• Bookmarks: 532631

There will be many changes welcoming us when we get back from summer vacation. Classrooms from grades 3-5 will join the middle-school and high-school students in the Science Park campus and so the library will be demolished in order to make space for the elementary school students over the summer vacation.

Until the new library is fully constructed in the amphitheater area, “the library is supposed to be in rooms 226, 227, 228, and 229,” said Ms. Navis. There is a significant difference of space from our current library to those four classrooms. Instead of having lounges, couches, individual study tables and the conference room, “there will be beanbags and [some] easy chairs where people can [still] study.” Now, obviously, space is being affected and it will have a great deal of effect on areas where people can relax. “The walls of room 226, 227 and 228 will be taken down, maximizing the space of the new makeshift library. Hallways will also be a part of the new library [in order to] maximize space,” mentioned Ms. Navis.

Ms. Navis is thrilled and excited for the new library. It will be located at the center of the school, “where it should be,” as it makes the library more accessible and involved within school facilities. The new library is expected to have one floor, and will be accessed through the big staircases.

Major changes will take place to make AISG better. Although there will be problems in next few years, it will definitely pay off at the end.
