The FIBA Basketball World Cup lasted from August 31 to September 15. There are 31 countries from all around the world participating this year.
The Federation International Basketball Association (FIBA) is the flagship event of the International Basketball Federation (IBF). The first-ever FIBA Basketball World Cup took place in Argentina where they won first place in the tournament.
The winning team of the tournament gets to hold the Naismith Trophy, named after the inventor of basketball, Dr. James Naismith. Some of the biggest basketball stars such as Oscar Schmidt, Nikos Galis, Pau Gasol, and Kevin Durant have participated in the tournament before.
China is hosting the tournaments in 8 different cities: Beijing, Nanjing, Wuhan, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Dongguan, Foshan, and Shenzhen.
The competition ended with the Spanish team getting ahold of the Naismith trophy.
A huge congrats to Spain for winning the world cup and even though China did not do so well in this tournament, they will continue to practice and improve in order to achieve a better score.
