Frozen 2, one of the most anticipated movies for kids this year, came out strong on November 22 and has already earned a whopping 756.1 million at the box office worldwide.
Even if you have not seen the original Frozen, it will not have a big impact on your viewing experience, as Frozen 2 can function as a standalone movie rather than a sequel.
But a question you might ask is: “why is it so popular and should you really watch this movie sitting with the little kids in the movie theater?”
First of all, it is definitely due to the well-written and intriguing plot that strongly appeals to both kids and adults. Secondly, it has to do with the masterful soundtrack and catchy tunes that get stuck in people’s heads.
Do you remember hearing the songs from the original Frozen over and over again on social media, TV, the radio, and everywhere else? Do you remember “Do you want to build a snowman?” and “Let it go” rumbling through your ears day and night?
To add to this fact, the star-studded cast and the brilliant Disney marketing team behind the movie, without a doubt, helped in the boom of popularity.
While it is trendy to say Frozen 2 is overrated, the movie itself is not bad. It is genuinely a good movie when you are able to enjoy it without any other opinions from your friends calling it overrated. It really brings you in the character’s adventure of their magical world.
Junior Raymond Wei recently watched Frozen 2 and he commented that “the movie itself is actually not that bad but most the people around me that have not even watched it yet is saying the movie is overrated. Even though the movie is not made for us at our age, I still enjoyed the movie.”
When looking at the plot, character development, and animation compared to other films, Frozen 2 stands out substantially.
Is it worth it to watch Frozen 2? You are the only one able to find out but in my opinion, it is definitely worth it.
