After the 10th graders performed in front of students and teachers of AISG, seven student representatives have been chosen to perform at the Garden Hotel On May 11th at 6:30PM. This speech will be given not only to the AISG community, but also to others in Guangzhou who are interested in listening to the way AISG 10th graders think about political events, social issues, and history.
Emceed by Belle and Karan, the students that are chosen to participate in the Garden Hotel speeches have a variety of topics. Out of the seven students, two decided to write about subjects that focuses on violence in the Middle East. First, Cassidy Redding will cover the Similarities between Jihadist and Crusaders. Secondly, also linked to terrorism, Vedika Savalani will talk about How: has music affected ISIS’s action.
Manogya Chandar will speak about comparing and contrasting the Holocaust WWII and The Armenian Genocide of WWI and harsh Hemlani will give his speech on which political system is best suited for the developing nation of China. Both topics are connected to political issues and historical events.
Dennis Liao will address his comments on what was the most important change made during the Meiji Restoration that allowed Japan to emerge as a world power at the beginning of the 20th century, strongly connected to the food industry in Japan. Gwen Farm will be sharing her opinions on How consistent have Disney cartoons been with presenting an idealized life for females, relating her speech to many cartoons that we’ve all watched in our childhood.
As members of the AISG community, I hope all of you will try to make it to the speeches to support all the sophomore finalists.
