As summer break is fast approaching, people are prepared to travel all around the world and enjoy their two month vacation. For those that are staying in Guangzhou for the summer, here are a few places to go that are within just a few hours car drive from Guangzhou:
Huizhou:
Huizhou is only a 2-hour drive from Guangzhou, and it has some of the prettiest natural scenery in Guangdong province. The Nankun National Forest Park, also called the “Oxygen Bar” of Guangdong, attracts many tourists with its scenic views and natural hot springs. Multiple resort hotels are located within the mountain, with the most famous one being Nankun Mountain Crosswaters Eco Resort.
Foshan:
With a short car drive, you can arrive in Foshan. One of the most famous tourist sites in Foshan is the Thousand Light Lake Park. Junior Derek Y. said, “The park may seem just like an ordinary park at first, but when the night comes and the lights turn on, it becomes a whole other spectacle.” There are boats available for rent at the park for people who want to tour around the lake.
Hailing Island:
Hailing Island, located in Yangjiang, is just a few hours away from Guangzhou. Freshman Anna K. traveled there last year, and she really enjoyed the place: “We stayed at the Crowne Plaza and the beach is really beautiful. The hotel has several pools for people to chill.” For people that want a place to relax during the summer, Hailing Island is a great spot.
