The Hungry Games is a race to chase! The goal is to catch the person whose name is on your spoon. If you get them, their spoon is yours to keep, but beware of the chase behind you. Official start date was Monday 18th, but because of a delay with the arrival of the spoons, the game started on the 19th. Confusion pervaded amongst the minds of high school students. Some were in the game and didn’t even have a spoon yet, even a day after the start of the game. One such person is Senior Sara Quattrocchi, who states, “The whole day has gone by and I still didn’t get my spoon. In fact, the person that had my name on their spoon caught me. This was quite unfair.”
The coordinator of TEC, the organization that started this game, has a few comments about the malfunctions of the game. Senior Karan Vasdev mentions, “There was a problem with the list because many people signed up late but we wanted to give them a chance to play. Because of that, there was a delay with the spoons. We coordinated the game so everyone would receive their spoons during homeroom but because buses were late that day, some people didn’t get their spoons on time”.
The game will go on until Thursday. The one that gains victory will receive a basket of baked goods.
For the first time ever, The Beacon has a countdown of the days, hours, minutes and seconds until the winner is announced. It also includes the countdown of the number of people that are still in the game. Wonder how many people are yet to be caught? Go to the one and only AISG publication, The Beacon.
