After over a year of working, the new elementary school building as well as the grand staircase is finally done. The grand staircase is a welcome return to the AISG campus.

This is only part 1 of the AISG master facility plan to renovate the school’s currently outdated facilities and it is looking very promising so far.

Many students have expressed joy over the return of the grand stair case, including Borui C. a junior who said, “I’m glad the stairs are back and now I don’t have to walk through the cramped theater stairs anymore.” Alex K. had a similar opinion, stating, “it is very cool.”

Similarly, Junior Savyasachi S. says, “I really enjoy the new stairs area, the lighting is nice and having the grand staircase back is very nice, the benches to the sides of the staircase are a nice addition as well, it provides a good location for potential future events as well.”

However, opinions over the new cafeteria and elementary school building are not as positive. The new staircase and courtyard has plenty of natural light but the same cannot be said for the cafeteria and elementary building, Junior Thomas X. says that the new cafeteria “lacks natural lighting” and “is poorly lit.”

Criticisms have also risen regarding the new high school science labs, with many students unhappy regarding the acoustics in the new labs. Junior Andrew Z. says, “there’s nothing wrong with the rooms besides for the paper-thin walls, during class, we can hear a majority of noises coming from outside.”

Not everything is negative however, Junior Alex K. says, “the new science labs are quite nice, disregarding the noise, the area is quite well lit and pleasant.”

Regarding the new black box, Junior Bobo L. says, “this new theater is much nicer than the old one, it’ll provide a nice space for future theater students.”

Students are quite enjoying the new facilities and students are strongly encouraged to utilize these new facilities to the fullest.
