Is Jon Bellion Back?

Jon Bellion has returned after his one hit wonder, All Time Low, back in 2016. His new album released three weeks ago include songs Blu, Conversations with my wife, and JT. Before his hit song, All Time Low, no one really knew who Jon Bellion was. The 25-year-old singer/songwriter still lives at home with his parents in Long Island, New York. The reason that Jon Bellion decided to disappear from the music industry is “he doesn’t want music to control his life and fame to the point that he can’t get groceries himself.” His unique style of music includes a mix of pop, hip-hop, and R&B that has attracted many people around the world and now we’re all craving more of it.

Jon Bellion’s reason for disappearing is easily understandable as no one likes their privacy being invaded. He doesn’t believe that fame should influence celebrities to change themselves to fit society’s norms. Bellion still lives with his parents in the very same neighborhood and plays basketball with the same people from high school. Not only he is very humble, but he has been making music with the same people in a band since high school. He believes that he should be the same person before and after becoming famous. Bellion has enough money to buy many houses in his neighborhood but he still chooses to live with his parents.

Rahul S, a sophomore who listened to Jon Bellion before says, “Jon Bellion’s music was great back then. My favorite songs… include All Time Low, Guillotine, and Maybe IDK. However, after listening to his new album, I do not like the direction of music he is going in due to his new songs containing weird sounds that do not blend well with the background. I understand what he is trying to do but it just doesn’t resonate with me.”

In my opinion, Jon Bellion’s songs in the past were great because of his creativity to mix pop, hip-hop, and R&B. But his recent album contains many weird and unique sounds that I think only a few people will find enjoyable. The tone of the songs in his album changes quite a bit which makes an awkward feeling. However, I do like the message he is conveying through his songs on his conviction that music should drive the industry. I also do envy his attitude toward fame and how humble he is about life.

Jon Bellion has a bright future ahead of him in the music business, as he is only 25 years old and creates very unique styles of music that everyone around the world loves.
