Tuesday in Sultanahmet, a neighbourhood in Istanbul, a suicide bomber attack, left 10 dead and 15 wounded.
After the horrific event, Turkish prime minister Ahmet Davutoglu considered the ISIS terrorist group to be the cause, according to a report by Associated Press. The explosion took place around 10:20 am local time, and was close to the city’s iconic landmarks, the Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque.
Announced by the Turkish government, a 28 year old Syrian is responsible for this attack. They also stated that most of the victims from this attack were foreigners.
Described by a police officer in the scene, bodies were scattered across the ground right after the blast.
Turkey’s relationship with ISIS has been very confusing lately, but they’re definitely one of the countries on ISIS’s violent agenda.
