Juice WRLD, born as Jarad Higgins, was an American rapper who started his career as a SoundCloud rapper in 2017 when he was still a teenager in high school. Higgins signed with Interscope Records in 2018 and became the most streamed, liked, and reposted artist on SoundCloud. His song “Lucid Dreams” hit number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and his second album Death Race for Love topped the charts in the US. The rapper also collaborated with other artists such as rapper Travis Scott and the band Panic! at the Disco.

21-year-old rapper Juice WRLD died after having a seizure in Chicago on December 8, 2019.

The rapper suffered a medical emergency shortly after arriving at the airport in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Higgins was transferred from the airport to a hospital where the Chicago Fire Department found him in cardiac arrest. He died two hours later after being transferred into hospital care.

Police say that, after searching his bags, they found 41 bags of suspected marijuana and six prescription bottles of suspected liquid cocaine, along with three firearms. After the investigation, the police said that no one claimed the luggage, suggesting it belonged to the rapper, as he has had a drug problem in the past.

Many fans are in disbelief and referenced a tweet he made in 2017 stating “My goal is to get overly famous, shine for a couple years…then fake my death”. Many fans believe that this could be a plot and that Juice WRLD is still alive and simply waiting to release new music. A similar phenomenon occurred in 2018 when rapper XXXTentacion was shot and killed. Due to statements he made before his death, fans believed that XXXTentacion was still alive. However, most people are coming to terms with Juice WRLD’s death.
