Latest Trivia Master: The GIN-Nastics

Global Issue Network’s (GIN) 3rd annual Trivia Night was a huge success! Not only were students and teachers solving challenging questions, but they were also able to enjoy baked goods from the bake sale where all the proceeds go to sponsoring underprivileged Shaoguan girls. This year’s trivia night had a total of 15 teams; we were able to raise funds for approximately five scholarships for underprivileged girls in Shaoguan. Coordinator So Eun Lee said, “You offered them a precious opportunity that will change their life. We hope to see more of you in next year’s trivia night. Also, a huge thank you to our Trivia Master Mr.Duncan! “

In this year’s trivia night, the winners were Ms.Dean, Ms.Allan, Caroline Mao, Jacky Liu and Jaemin Kim, also known as the Mental GIN-nastics with the highest score of 770 points. In second place, the 007-11 had  675 points and Tim-Name placed third with 655 points.

Trivia night is not only an event that provides an opportunity for girls in Shaoguan, but you also get to bond with your classmates and teachers. Jacky Liu said, “It was really fun for me because I was on the same team as my friends, who were also my quiz team teammates. It was also really fun because I got to know two teachers. Both Ms. Dean and Ms. Allan are so enthusiastic and fun. It was really a great event.”

So Eun Lee commented, “The hard work definitely paid off and it was great seeing people enjoy the event. We hope to see more of your in next year’s trivia night!” Make sure to sign up and participate in next year’s trivia night for a fun and challenging night.
