Currently, Europe is in the midst of a refugee crisis. There are more refugees now than there were in World War II. Because of this calamity, the EU has set an emergency fund for Africa in motion. This is to help Africa get grips with the swelling number of refugees surging to their shores. This 2 billion dollar fund was unveiled after a two-day long meeting between African leaders and the EU in Malta. The money will contribute to the slowing of poverty and migration, and will help speed up the repatriation programs. However, this 2 billion dollar donation will simply add to the initial 20 billion euros that the EU donates to Africa annually.
