2021 has been somewhat chaotic, especially with COVID-19 still being around. We are now already half a month into 2022.
This year, AISG has granted students and teachers an extra week of a winter holiday with a total of three weeks. It allowed students to relax and travel around without the hassle of being short of time.
Take Carson A., for example. He is a sophomore who traveled to Sanya over the break.
“I was there for a relaxing vacation: swimming in the pool, relaxing in the sun,” commented Carson. “There were no COVID problems that we encountered. We just had to test before getting to Sanya and before coming back to Guangzhou.”
Vincent C., a senior at AISG, traveled to Wuhan for sightseeing with his family.
“It was a pleasant experience to smell the breeze of nature once in a long time,” he said. “It made me relieve my stress for IB and I felt much better after visiting some historical sites.”
Luckily for them, they had no issues coming back to Guangzhou in time before school started. As China announced the presence of the new Omicron variant in Tianjin and Xi’an, the festive atmosphere of the new year has begun to diminish with the fear of the spreading virus.
