Logan Paul VS KSI: Round 2

Two of the biggest internet stars, Logan Paul and KSI fought on Saturday, November 9. This fight is a rematch between the two; the first match occurred last year on August 25. Both fighters were sloppy and ran out of energy by round three of a six-round fight. Either way, it was an entertaining fight to watch.

Unlike the first fight, round two consisted of no head guard and ten-ounce gloves, which are worn in pro boxing matches. The first fight was held at the Manchester Arena in London, United Kingdom. This time, the fight was held at the Staples Arena which is the home stadium of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Both fighters have huge audiences and had a lot at stake. They weren’t only fighting for the money or the title, but mainly to shame the other fighter. In previous months, both fighters expressed their hatred for each other by making countless videos on YouTube. The reason they fought in the first place was that KSI called Logan Paul out for a fight after his fight which he won against another popular YouTube star, Joe Weller Logan Paul accepted and now has fought KSI twice.

With this fight, no one knew who was going to win, which made it so interesting to watch. The fight was hosted on a platform called DAZN which exclusively hosts fights to watch online with a fee. The founder of DAZN, Eddie Hearn, said that he didn’t know what the outcome of this fight would be. I asked Borui C., a sophomore, who he thought would win the fight. He said that he thinks Logan Paul will win “because he is in better shape and has a longer reach.”

After six long rounds in the Staples Center, both fighters were gassed out and it looked like Logan Paul would win, but during round four of the fight, he hit KSI on the back of the head, which is illegal, and had two points deducted from his score. The fight ended with KSI taking the win by split decision with the last judges score being 56-55. If Logan Paul hadn’t hit him on the back of the head, he would have won the fight. In a post-fight interview, he said: “My emotions got to me and I knew instantly that it could cost me the fight, and it did.”

In my opinion, I think the fight was very entertaining to watch. It was easy to see that both fighters trained a lot for this fight and their technique had certainly improved. YouTube stars and their expectations for what they are capable of have certainly gone higher. KSI remains YouTube’s boxing champion.
