1. Remind Me to Forget

  • Artist: Kygo and Miguel
  • Genre: Pop, Dance
  • Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
  • If you like this, try this: “Stay” by Kygo
  • Why I like it: This song is pretty slow at first and the beat drop isn’t insane, but it is very sweet and soft. Also, it is a great song to listen to and sing along to. As the song progresses, the beat speeds up and it’s a nice change to be able to understand what the person is singing during the beat drop for a change. Even though this song is about heartbreak, it isn’t super depressing and, instead, very catchy

2. lovely

  • Artist: Billie Eilish and Khalid
  • Genre: Alternative/Indie
  • Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
  • If you like this, try this: “ocean eyes” by Billie Eilish
  • Why I like it: lovely is a very slow song which one might think has a beat drop, but doesn’t, even though it seems like the song is leading up to it. This makes the song less great, but despite this, it’s a really great song with two very, VERY talented artists. If you are feeling mellow or want to relax, this is the song for you

3. Jealous

  • Artist: Labrinth
  • Genre: R&B / Soul
  • Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
  • If you like this, try this: “Lay it on Me” by Vance Joy
  • Why I like it: This song, with an opening of sad piano music, doesn’t have a change in mood throughout the whole song. It’s depressing, to say the least. Even though this song has been out for a long time, it’s a great song to listen to when you are depressed. But the song is beautiful and his voice just makes it that much better.

4. Something New

  • Artist: Axwell/\Ingrosso
  • Genre: Pop/Electronic/Dance
  • Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
  • If you like this, try this: “More Than You Know” by Axwell/\Ingrosso
  • Why I like it: Another oldie, but in a relatively new album, this song is really great. It starts off kind of slow, but speeds up and has a great beat drop. The lyrics are meaningful and can be interpreted in any way the listener wants.

5. Paranoid

  • Artist: Post Malone
  • Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap
  • Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
  • If you like this, try this: “Go Flex” by Post Malone
  • Why I like it: It is the only un-explicit song Post Malone has ever written/has sung and is very catchy. It isn’t full-on rap, and it has a catchy beat to groove along to.

6. Youth

  • Artist: Shawn Mendes and Khalid
  • Genre: Pop/Indie
  • Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
  • If you like this, try this: “Dusk Till Dawn” Sia and Zayn
  • Why I like it: This is a great song for the first 10 times you listen to it and then it gets somewhat boring. Nevertheless, it is a great song and has two of the best artists in the universe singing a really new and creative and meaningful song. The beat is a mix between boppy and chill and is somewhat repetitive.

7. X

  • Artist: Nicky Jam, J Balvin
  • Genre: Reggaeton
  • Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
  • If you like this, try this: “Dembow” by Danny Ocean
  • Why I like it: It is one of those songs that grows on a person and just like “Youth” above, it is a song with a mix between boppy and chill, but is a really interesting song to dance to but not full on crazy dance. Even though this song is rather repetitive, it is a great Spanish song to listen to even if you don’t speak Spanish.

8. La Même

  • Artist: Maître Gims
  • Genre: French Pop
  • Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
  • If you like this, try this: “ave cesaria” by stromae
  • Why I like it: Even though this song isn’t in English, it is one of those songs that is so incredible you don’t have to know what it means in order to fall in love with it. Maître Gims’ voice is the best thing in this world and makes the song so much better. It has a rather slow start and then as you listen into the chorus, you will fall in love.

9. Gangnam Style

  • Artist: PSY
  • Genre: K-Pop
  • Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
  • If you like this, try this: “Gentlemen” by PSY
  • Why I like it: WHO REMEMBERS THIS SONG?! Wow even though it’s old, once you stumble upon it again, it’s just so funny and a must to dance to. This is more of a song for the lolz and just a great song if you don’t really care about anything when you’re listening.

10. Dembow

  • Artist: Danny Ocean
  • Genre: Reggaeton
  • Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
  • If you like this, try this: “El Baño” by Enrique Iglesias
  • Why I like it: This is a boppy and energetic song, even though it’s in Spanish, it is a catchy song no matter what language you speak. But I must admit, it gets very old after listening to it a few times and is quite repetitive. Despite this, it is a very unique song to listen and sing along to.

11. Est-ce que tu m’aimes ?

  • Artist: Maître Gims
  • Genre: French pop
  • Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
  • If you like this, try this: “Bella” by Maître Gims
  • Why I like it: This is a truly incredible French song which blows my mind because the title looks so long but is so short during speaking. It is another one of those songs that will grow on you over time and is a super catchy love song. It isn’t too speedy or slow which is a great beat for the song.

12. Back To You

  • Artist: Selena Gomez
  • Genre: French pop
  • Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
  • If you like this, try this: “Love Story” by Taylor Swift
  • Why I like it: “Back To You” is a song from the soundtrack of the second season of Thirteen Reasons Why. It is a really good song at first and then it slowly gets worse. But, this is a very deep and meaningful song about love and heartbreak.

13. Team

  • Artist: Noah Cyrus and MAX
  • Genre: Pop
  • Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
  • If you like this, try this: “Make Me (Cry)” by Noah Cyrus
  • Why I like it: This is an adorable song about anything meaningful to the listener; let it be friendship, family or a loved one. It is a soft song with great singers doing a wonderful job. Even though it’s slightly repetitive, it just reinforces the idea of perseverance throughout the song.

14. MIC Drop Remix

  • Artist: BTS, Desiigner, Steve Aoki
  • Genre: K-Pop / Rap
  • Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
  • If you like this, try this: “Hello Kitty” by Avril Lavigne
  • Why I like it: Not the most recent song/remix but it is very intense and a great song if you are in the mood to go full on beast mode. It is also relatively choppy with many different types of musical genres involved. A very catchy song if I must admit.

15. This is America

  • Artist: Childish Gambino
  • Genre: Rap
  • Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
  • If you like this, try this: “Redbone” by Childish Gambino
  • Why I like it: A very not good song the first time you hear it if I’m being completely honest. But, if you don’t mind a few explicit words and focus more on the meaning, it gets really good and addictive and you will probably find yourself listening to it and dancing along for pleasure. No wonder everyone is listening to it right now! Make sure to watch the music video if you are interested.
